Helicopter Training: Commercial

The commercial pilot certificate allows the holder to be compensated while acting as pilot in command.

Many operators now require pilots to be instrument rated for employment.

FAA Requirements

  • Obtain Private Pilot Certificate
  • FAA 3rd class medical, 2nd class to act as commercial pilot
  • Pass the FAA Written Knowledge Test
  • Pass the FAA Practical Test
  • Log 150* hours of flight time (100 PIC)

20 Hours. Dual Flight Instruction (minimum) $260 $5,200
80 Hours. Solo Flight $225 $18,000
10 Hours. Instrument Instruction $445 $4,450
20 Hours. Ground Instruction $35 $700

Total $29,090

*150 Hours is FAA Minimum.
